Mayor to hold meeting to discuss youth league ball

Staff Report
Manchester Mayor Joey Hobbs announced that he will hold a public meeting at 5:30 p.m., on July 8 at City Hall to discuss youth sports programs.
“I understand emotions are running high, and I understand the concerns being expressed by parents, coaches, and league officials,” Hobbs said in a post. “Those concerns deserve to be heard. I believe we can address them more effectively through productive discussions than through social media arguments. To that end, I will be hosting a public meeting on July 8th at 5:30 pm so that everyone can be heard.”
The mayor said that decisions affecting youth sports programs or league access to any and all city facilities are made through the appropriate channels and communicated in person.
“The youth league season has concluded, and I think it would benefit everyone to take a pause, step back from social media, and focus on constructive conversations. The back-and-forth online is not helping improve the fields, lower costs, or create a better experience for our young athletes,” Hobbs said.
