The Coffee County volleyball team kicked off its week with a road win Monday evening.

Taking on Battle Creek, the Lady Raiders returned home with a 3-1 victory.

After Coffee County took the first set 25-22, Battle Creek responded by tying the match with a 25-19 win in the second set. The Lady Raiders went on to take the third set 25-20 before closing it out with a 25-17 victory in the fourth set.

Andon Selvog led the team in aces with three. Jenslee Nogodula followed with two. Danni Hillis, Hayleigh Harris and Isabelle Saner each had one ace.

Nogodula once again finished the evening with 30 digs to lead the team in this category. Selvog added 15. Hillis and Harris were credited with 12 digs each. Saner picked up six. Cailey Sturgill and Paisley Dyer each brought in four digs. Cara Newlin added three, finishing just ahead of Blaine Weaver with two. Addy Wild had one dig.

Harris led the team in kills with 12. Newlin notched eight. Up next was Hillis with six kills. Dyer followed with five. Daisy Kapice brought in two kills. Selvog, Sturgill and Wild had one kill each.

Hillis, Dyer, Wild and Kapice each had one block.

Selvog was the team’s assist leader with 17 on the match. Saner came away with nine. Nogodula followed with three assists. Newlin and Weaver each had one.

Coffee County (8-4, 2-1 district) remains on the road to take on Franklin County Tuesday. Match time is set for 6 p.m.

CHS boys take top spot at WillowBrook

The Coffee County golf team opened its week by hosting Franklin County, Lincoln County and Warren County for a nine-hole competition Monday.

The Red Raiders came away with a first-place finish, posting a team score of 146. Franklin County and Lincoln County both followed with scores of 161. Warren County posted a 164.

On the girls’ side, Coffee County wrapped up the day with a score of 93 to finish one stroke behind Warren County at 92. Lincoln County finished with a 107. Franklin County had only one girls’ golfer and therefore did not have a team score.

The Red Raiders’ individual scores were led by Levi Rossman and Jaxon Phillips, who both shot rounds of 35 on the day. Carter Bell followed with a 37. Jayden Melton and Dax Carney both finished with scores of 39, with only Melton’s counting toward the team’s scoring total.

Karaline Matthews led the Coffee County girls with a round of 45. Karsyn Riddle shot a 48.

The Lady Rockets remained undefeated with a home shutout on eighth grade night Monday.

Westwood remains at home to take on Webb at 5:30 p.m. Friday evening.

Coffee County will welcome Tullahoma for a 5:30 p.m. match Thursday.
