Man killed in fall at Old Stone Fort

A Nashville man hiking with his girlfriend at Old Stone Fort Park fell to his death this past Thursday, losing his balance as he swatted at an insect before plummeting over 20 feet over a cliff.
Investigators believe the death of Kanyon Webb, 29, was caused by a broken neck and not drowning when he fell over the sheer drop, hitting rocks before entering the water near Big Falls.
Coffee County Sheriff’s Investigator Cody Koon said the probe into the accident revealed that the couple was strolling along the trail that overlooks the falls when they paused to look over the bluff. That is when an insect began attacking them, prompting Webb to flail at the bug and lose his balance.
Investigators believe he fell head first explaining the severe head and neck injuries that caused his death.
