State redraws Congressional Districts

The General Assembly has adopted revised congressional districts and a special qualifying period for candidates for United States House of Representatives.
Additional candidates may qualify for the primary or general election between now and noon on Friday, May 15, 2026.
Petitions can be picked up from the State Division of Elections or local county election commission offices. The State Division of Elections is open Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Local office hours are available on the county election commission lookup.
New candidates must collect at least 25 signatures from voters who are registered in a county that is part of the House district. The original petition must be filed in the State Division of Elections located at 312 Rosa L. Parks Ave., 7th Floor, William R. Snodgrass Tower, Nashville, TN 37243, by noon on Friday, May 15, 2026.
Candidates who previously qualified for 2026 congressional elections may run in the new district that has the same district number. Candidates who wish to change districts or withdraw may do so by filing a notarized statement with the State Division of Elections, attention Coordinator of Elections.
