Manchester will soon have hot eats and cool treats with the planned opening of a Dairy Queen on Woodbury Highway in the coming months.

“Everyone I have spoken to has been very excited and very welcoming,” said developer and owner Jaie Damron of Tullahoma.

Damron said the process of getting construction underway has been ongoing for about a year.

“There were a lot of hoops to jump through and red tape … that have taken time,” he said.

Construction is estimated to take about five months if the weather and equipment availability cooperates.

Damron and his brother have operated businesses in Tullahoma for about 20 years. The two liked that Dairy Queen has been in business for over 80 years and the support they provide in the community.

“We are looking forward to being engrained in the community and doing things that we can do to support the community,” Damron said. “Giving back is important to me and my family. Tullahoma has been very good to us, and I expect that Manchester is going to be very welcoming to us. We look forward to giving back and to providing something that everybody is excited to have.”
