Manchester resident dead in boating fatality Warren County

A local man died after falling out of a boat unresponsive in Warren County Saturday, June 20, according to the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency.

According to reports, Corey Blake Phillips, 48, was paddling with two other men down Barren Fork River before 11 a.m. , and after a brief stop, he fell out of the boat unresponsive.

Warren County Rescue Squad and EMS responded. Paramedics took Phillips to a local hospital in McMinnville, where he was pronounced dead.

His death is the 10th boating-related fatality of 2026 in Tennessee, according to TWRA.
