Staff Report

A packed Manchester Aldermen race resulted in challenger Paul Thornton gaining one of three open seats along with incumbents Thomas Crosslin and Donny Parsley. 

Thornton garnered 632 votes, Crosslin 602 and Parsley 651.  Of the remaining candidates Dana Douglas received 517 votes, Harold “Rocky” Jones: 359, Ben Laine: 200, Holly McLaren: 407, Jeff Perry: 415 and Kevin Smith: 210

The following are the unofficial results of the Aug. 6 State Primary, State and Coffee County General, and the Manchester and Tullahoma Municipal elections. The voter turnout for the August election was 8,336 of 38,810 registered voters, or 21.48%.

Results in the Coffee County Mayor race was Dennis Hunt (R): 5,553, Khamai M. Rozier (D): 1,010 and Mark Messick (I): 1,369.

In the County Commissioner races  District 1 results are Dowe Langford Jones (R): 405 and Amanda LeVieux (D): 199, shutting out a write-in attempt by Susan Parsley.

District 2 (Two Seats) results are Roger Chambers (R): 509 and Jeff Perry (R): 477 over Larry K. Bowen (D): 252.

County Commissioner District 3 (Two Seats) are Laura Cason Nettles (R): 646 and Rose Ann Carden Smith (R): 613.

District 4 (Two Seats) results are Mark T. Brothers (R): 584 and Tim Brown (R): 500 over Marlene Genesio (D): 109, Dan Johnson (I): 95, Sam Myers (I): 338.

District 5 (Two Seats) results are Missy DeFord (R): 789 and Tim Morris (R): 654 over Jenny Davis (I): 419.

District 6 (Two Seats) results are Sammy Anderson, III (R): 621 and Terry L. Hershman (R): 594.

Pulling a Democratic win in District 7 (Two Seats) were Rosemary Crabtree (D): 237 and Jackie A. Duncan (D): 243.

District 8 (Two Seats) results are Derick Mann (R): 670 andTim Stubblefield (R): 821 and District 9 (Two Seats) results are J. Todd Malone (R): 440 and Frank C.B. Watkins (R): 474.

County Trustee  John H. Marchesoni (R) ran unopposed garnering 6,649 votes.

Sheriff Chad Partin, also unopposed got  6,479 votes.

In the Circuit Court Clerk race  Kelsie Parks Adams received 6,545 votes.

In the County Clerk race Donna Lowe Spaulding (R) got  4,381 to Chassity Harris’ (I) 3,304 votes.

In the Register of Deeds race results are Donna Toney (R): 5,881 to Debbie Williams’ (D): 1,812

Coffee County School Board Member Seat 1 – District 1, 3, 4 (Two Seats) results are Gary P. Nester (R): 1,381 votes, Brent Parsley (R): 1,664 and Freda K. Jones (I): 890.  Unopposed School Board Member Seat 2 – District 2, 6, 7: results have Charles Lawson (R) with 1,764 votes and in the Seat 3 – Districts 5, 8, 9 race Dana Duke Morris (R) got 2,452 votes.
