Pickleball Fever Sweeps Community as local tournament crowns ‘Queen of the Court’

Daniels Court recently played host to an energetic and spirited pickleball tournament that showcased exactly why the sport continues to surge in popularity across the globe. Often described as the fastest growing sport in the world, pickleball is more than just a game—it’s a social movement that brings together players of all ages and backgrounds.

The women’s tournament, organized by hosts Tim and Felicia Daniels, drew a lively group of competitors ready to test their skills and enjoy the camaraderie that defines the sport. The event was filled with laughter, friendly competition, and impressive athleticism.

At the end of the tournament, Shelia Bullock emerged victorious, earning the title of “Queen of the Court.” Close behind was Kamilla Wright, who claimed the position of first runner-up. Connie Hill and Margarita Mehalic tied for second runner-up, rounding out a strong field of talented players. Other participants included Betty Pearson, Bonnie Gamble, Michelle Darr, and Patty Burks.

Participants agreed that the event was a resounding success, with many already looking forward to future competitions. Organizers shared plans to expand upcoming tournaments to include couples and mixed doubles play, promising even more opportunities for the community to get involved.
