The Coffee County golf team opened its week with a road trip to take part in the Cookeville Invitational Monday.

The Red Raiders finished the day with a team score of 302 to secure second place out of 13. The host Cavaliers’ No. 1 team took the top spot with a score of 300.

On the girls’ side, Coffee County came away with a score of 180 to finish in sixth place out of 11 teams. Cookeville’s No. 1 team took first place with a score of 158.

Individual scorers for the Red Raiders included Levi Rossman, who shot a 70 to lead Coffee County and finish second overall behind Tullahoma’s Alex Miller with a 66. Rylan Melson followed with a 73 to finish four strokes ahead of Carter Bell at 77. Jaxon Phillips rounded out the Red Raiders’ top four scorers with an 82.

Karaline Matthews led the Coffee County girls’ team with a score of 83. Karsyn Riddle finished her round with a 97 to complete the Lady Raiders’ team score.

MIDDLE SCHOOL VOLLEYBALL

Westwood 2, South Franklin 0

The Lady Rockets came away with a home sweep Monday, winning by set scores of 25-11 and 25-9.

Westwood (3-2) remains at home for a tri-match against Fayette and Flint Tuesday. The Lady Rockets will open up against Fayette at 5 p.m., with the match against Flint set to start at 7 p.m.

MIDDLE SCHOOL GIRLS’ SOCCER

North 1, Coffee County 0

The Lady Raiders returned home from Franklin County with their second straight one-goal loss Monday, following a similarly tight 3-2 final at home against Warren County Friday.

Coffee County (1-2) remains on the road to face cross-county rival Tullahoma Wednesday evening. Start time is set for 6 p.m.
