The Coffee County boys’ golf team was back on its home course for a nine-hole competition against Sequatchie County at WillowBrook Golf Club Tuesday.

The Red Raiders’ A team took the top spot with a score of 159, with the B team following with a 166. Sequatchie County finished the day with a 203.

Coffee County’s A team scorers included Blaine Bonner with a team-high 36. Jayden Melton followed with a 38. Up next was Riley Keele with a 41, with Tanner Daugherty rounding it out with a 44.

On the B team, the Red Raiders were led by Dax Carney with a 39. Up next was Ben Crabtree with a 40. Cole Williams added a 42. Lhane Meeks finished his round with a 45.

HIGH SCHOOL GIRLS’ SOCCER

Giles County 3, Coffee County 2

The Lady Raiders opened their season with a one-goal home loss Tuesday evening.

Tied at 1-1 at halftime, Giles County outscored Coffee County 2-1 in the second half to seal the victory.

Coffee County (0-1) remains at home to face Tullahoma in the Coffee Cup Thursday evening. Start time is set for 7 p.m.

MIDDLE SCHOOL GIRLS’ SOCCER

Westwood 9, St. Andrew’s Sewanee 0

The Lady Rockets picked up a dominant shutout road win Tuesday evening to remain undefeated.

Italia Orpineda came away with three goals to lead the team with a hat trick. Wynnslee Smartt followed with two goals. Lois Wilcox, Ashlyn Allen, Emily Rincon and Kenya Ramirez had one goal each.

Westwood remains on the road to take on PCA Tuesday. Start time is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.

Westwood 2, Cannon County 0

The Lady Rockets picked up their second win in as many days with a road sweep Tuesday, winning by set scores of 25-14 and 25-19.

Westwood (7-3) travels to South Franklin for a 4:45 p.m. match this evening.
