The Coffee County girls’ soccer team was back on its home turf at Raider Academy to take on Webb Tuesday evening.

Coming off its tournament weekend in Gatlinburg, the Lady Raiders took care of business with a 3-0 home victory.

Coffee County got on the board early in the first half with a goal from Lilly Matherne at the 30:18 mark.

Still up 1-0 as the second half got under way, Matherne scored again to make it a 2-0 game before striking once more with one second remaining to complete the hat trick.

Coffee County (3-4-1, 1-0 district) travels to McMinnville to take on Warren County in a Class 3A District 6 matchup Tuesday. Start time is scheduled for 6:30 p.m.

Coffee County 3, Franklin County 1

The Lady Raiders were back on the road for their second match in as many days Tuesday.

Taking on Class 3A District 9 foe Franklin County, Coffee County returned home from Winchester with a 3-1 victory.

After falling 26-24 in the first set, Coffee County bounced back with a 25-16 win in the second set to tie the match at 1-1. The Lady Raiders continued to push ahead from there, winning the third set 25-11 before sealing the match with a 25-22 victory in the fourth set.

Danni Hillis led the team in aces with five. Andon Selvog and Hayleigh Harris followed with two aces each. Isabelle Saner and Jenslee Nogodula each had one ace.

Harris took the top spot for digs with 19 on the match. Nogodula added 15. Selvog brought in eight digs. Hillis came away with six to finish just ahead of Cara Newlin with five. Paisley Dyer was credited with four digs. Saner and Daisy Kapise both picked up three. Cailey Sturgill and Genna Sadler had one dig each.

Newlin led the way in kills with 11. Up next was Harris with nine. Dyer followed with eight kills. Hillis and Sturgill both brought in five each. Saner notched three kills. Kapise and Addy Wild had one each.

Kapise was the team’s block leader, wrapping up the evening with three. Hillis, Newlin, Dyer, Harris and Wild had one block each.

Selvog finished with 19 assists to lead the category. Saner added 14. Harris, Nogodula and Kapise each had one assist.

Coffee County (10-4, 3-1 district) travels to Tullahoma for another district matchup against the cross-county rival Lady Cats Thursday evening. Start time is set for 6 p.m.

CHS takes Warren County tournament

The Coffee County golf team traveled to McMinnville Country Club to face off against Warren County and Tullahoma Tuesday afternoon.

Both the boys’ and girls’ teams took care of business, with the Red Raiders posting a team score of 326 to finish ahead of Tullahoma at 333 and Warren County at 351 in the boys’ competition. Facing off against only Warren County on the girls’ side, Coffee County posted a team score of 180 to beat the Lady Pioneers at 187.

Boys’ individual scorers for Coffee County were led by Levi Rossman with a 76. Jaxon Phillips followed with a 79. Carter Bell added an 82. Dax Carney shot an 89 to round out the team’s scoring. The Lady Raiders were led by Karaline Matthews with an 82. Karsyn Riddle added a 98.
