The Coffee County volleyball team was back on its home court for some tournament action over the weekend.

Hosting the annual Dream for Weave Southern Slam, the Lady Raiders posted a 5-1 record across their tournament slate, with their only loss coming in the championship match to finish the day as runners-up.

Coffee County began its tournament with an undefeated record in pool play. Opening their Pool A slate against Whitwell, the Lady Raiders won 2-0 before following this up with another 2-0 victory over Boyd Christian. Coffee County went on to close out pool play with a 2-1 victory over Community to secure Pool A’s top spot.

Advancing to the Gold Division from there, the Lady Raiders went on to defeat Tullahoma 2-1 in the division quarterfinals and Bledsoe County 2-0 in the division semifinals. Taking on HVA in the Gold Division final, Coffee County fell 2-0 to take the tournament runner-up spot.

Coffee County (13-10) remains at home for a freshman and JV match against Cannon County Monday evening, with the freshmen playing at 5 p.m. and the JV team scheduled for 6 p.m. The Lady Raider varsity team returns to action with a Class 3A District 9 match at home against Columbia Central Tuesday. Start time for Tuesday’s match is set for 6 p.m.
