The Coffee County girls’ soccer team kicked off its week with a home game Monday evening.

Taking on Shelbyville Central in a Class AAA District 6 matchup, the Lady Raiders kept it close but fell 3-1 to the Golden Eaglettes.

Trailing 2-0 at halftime, the Lady Raiders got on the board early in the second half on a goal from Lilly Matherne to cut the Shelbyville lead to one.

The Golden Eaglettes were able to come away with one more goal as the game continued to ultimately finish it up by two.

Coffee County (3-7-1, 1-3 district) gets back on the road for a 5:30 p.m. game against Huntland Thursday night.

MIDDLE SCHOOL SOCCER

Coffee County 2, Tullahoma 1

The Lady Raiders opened their district tournament slate at East Middle School in Tullahoma Monday.

Taking on the Lady Cats, the Lady Raiders advanced to the district tournament semifinals with a victory over their archrival, with goals coming courtesy of Finley Jones and Alli Holland.

Coffee County will travel to Harris for the district semifinals Wednesday night.

MIDDLE SCHOOL VOLLEYBALL

Westwood 2, Highland Rim 1

The Westwood volleyball team closed out its regular-season slate with a road district win Monday evening, defeating Highland Rim in three sets.

Westwood will begin its postseason journey at Unity Tuesday night, with the No. 3 seed Lady Rockets facing off against Highland Rim once again. Start time is set for 6 p.m.
