The Coffee County girls’ soccer team opened its week with a home game Monday evening.

Taking on DeKalb County at Raider Academy, the Lady Raiders did not allow a goal on the way to a 3-0 victory over the Lady Tigers.

Up 1-0 at the break following a first-half goal from Lilly Matherne, Coffee County added to its lead less than two minutes into the second half off a goal from Abigail Bellamy. The Lady Raiders went on to add one more goal when Annabeth Tidwell scored in the final minutes of regulation to finish the game up by three.

Coffee County (4-7-1) resumes Class 3A District 6 play on the road against Columbia Central at 7 p.m. this evening.

Westwood wins two at district tournament

The Lady Rockets’ postseason continued with a pair of district tournament matches against Fayetteville City and Highland Rim Monday.

The Lady Rockets came out on top 2-0 against both opponents to keep their path to a district title in reach. Opening against Fayetteville City, Westwood won by set scores of 25-16 and 25-12. The Lady Rockets followed this up against Highland Rim with set victories of 25-15 and 25-18.

Westwood will return to Fayetteville to take on Unity at 6 p.m. this evening.

CCMS beats Harris, falls to EO Coffman at district tournament

The Coffee County Middle School volleyball team kicked off its postseason slate with the district tournament at Harris Middle School Monday.

The No. 4 seed Lady Raiders took care of No. 5-seeded Harris, setting up a match against No. 1 seed EO Coffman later in the evening.

Coffee County had less luck this time around and fell to the Lady Panthers 2-0, losing by set scores of 25-15 and 25-11.

CCMS falls in district third-place game

After falling 2-0 to Harris in the district tournament semifinals last Wednesday, the Lady Raiders’ season came to an end with a loss in the district tournament third-place game Saturday.

Coffee County finished the season with six wins, including a 2-1 district tournament playoff win over Tullahoma to open the postseason. Following the end of the district tournament, both Allie Holland and Mia Graf were named to the 2026 All-District team.
