POLSON, Mont. – A fire broke out at a structure just north of Polson off Fox Ln. on Tuesday afternoon.
According to a Facebook post by the Polson Rural Fire District, the fire started around 3:00 p.m. near a wood stove chimney, with strong winds quickly spreading the flames through the attic.
The City of Polson Fire Department and Polson Ambulance Inc. joined the effort to put out the fire. Firefighters had to pull back and fight the flames from outside due to the intensity.
The building was declared a total loss, although many contents were saved. The fire is thought to have started from the wood stove, and an investigation is ongoing. Thankfully, no injuries were reported.
