Gunfire outside music studio injures two, police say

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Two people were shot late Saturday night outside a music studio on Directors Row, police said.

According to the Memphis Police Department (MPD), officers were called to Regional One where they learned two gunshot victims had arrived around 11:30 p.m.

A woman told police she was in the back seat of a car heading to the studio. When they arrived near the gate, shots were fired from behind the car.

MPD said she ducked for cover but realized she had been shot. She also saw her friend in the front passenger seat had been shot. She said she did not see the shooter.

Police said both victims were dropped off at the hospital.

The woman was listed in non-critical condition, but her friend was in critical condition.

A witness told police a black SUV pulled up and a masked man stood through the sunroof and began shooting at the victim’s car.

MPD said they tried to locate the driver but were unable to find him.
