LARCENY/THEFT — SHOPLIFTING: On Jan. 26, an officer responded to Lowes regarding a theft that occurred on Jan. 23. An asset protection agent stated a male entered the store and was captured on surveillance video stealing two chainsaws. The man passed all points of sale without paying for the items, which were valued at $1,319.98, and left the property in a vehicle with a North Carolina registration. The officer was able to identify the man as Terry Wayne Carver, 43, and issued a warrant for Carver’s arrest.

VIOLATION OF PROBATION: On Jan. 23, an officer was dispatched to Tennessee State Probation and Parole regarding a male with active warrants. Upon arrival, the officer identified Jody Lynn Evans, 54. Evans was known to have a violation of probation warrant out of Cocke County Circuit Court. Evans was placed under arrest and transported to the jail without incident.

THEFT OF PROPERTY LESS THAN $1000/ MISDEMEANOR: On Jan. 23, officers were dispatched to Walmart regarding a shoplifter. Upon arrival, an officer spoke with the loss prevention employee who stated he watched Erin Kolnicki, 35, conceal items in her purse and change the barcodes on items. The items were valued at $120.07. Kolnicki admitted to putting the items in her purse. Walmart was able to recover the property, and Kolnicki was issued a citation for the theft.

THEFT OF PROPERTY LESS THAN $1000/ MISDEMEANOR: On Jan. 26, officers responded to Walmart regarding a theft. Upon arrival, officers made contact with an asset protection employee who reported observing Justin McMath, 34, failing to scan multiple items at a register. The merchandise totaled $75.59. McMath was issued a citation.
