Coffee County Central High School graduate Erin Powers was recently named 2026 Elementary Teacher of the Year by Tennessee Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance.

Powers is a PE teacher at Rutherford County School’s  Homer Pittard Campus.

Recipients of the Teacher of the Year award must be certified professionals who demonstrate strong leadership, professional growth, and a deep commitment to their discipline.
