Westwood swept by Community at Forrest tournament

The Westwood Middle School basketball teams traveled to Chapel Hill  to open play at Forrest’s World Tournament Monday.

Tipping off the tournament with a doubleheader against Community, both the Rockets and Lady Rockets fell in their respective matchups. The Westwood girls lost 48-22, while the boys finished down 33-27.

Adley Selvog led the Lady Rockets’ offense with seven points. Makenzie Meacham followed with six points, just ahead of Paisley Prater with five points. Bella Hastings and Lyza Cashion both had two points each.

On the boys’ side, Kayden Campbell led the way with eight points. Luke Christian and Brock Christian both added seven points each. Alijah Cuff and Hayes Shemwell each came away with two points. Sterling Crockett had one free throw for one point.

Westwood (1-2 girls, 2-1 boys) returns to Forrest Tuesday to continue World Tournament play.
