20 seniors sign with TCAT

Twenty Coffee County Central High School seniors officially signed a letter of intent with Tennessee College of Apply Technology (TCAT) McMinnville during the National Career and Technical Education signing day Wednesday, April 30 at the high school.

Student fields of study ranged from automotive technology to massage therapy.

Signing in automotive technology was Dillion Champion, in building construction technology was Mason Smith. Pursuing cosmetology studies will be Amber Brown, Elizabeth Poxtan, Kaylee Mason, Lelia Leverette and Viktoria Rackley.

Senior Giovanna Penaloza Barrera signed for the licensed practical nursing, Johnson Barnard will study machine tool technology, Jack Brady registered in the truck driving program and Emily Seivers in the massage therapy.

Welding technology program students are Jacob Anderson, Blake Arnold Isbell, Timothy Carr, Dalton Davis, Storm Johnson, Kameron Kennedy, Kara Muncey, Dakota Patch and Connor Ross.

CCHS Career and Technical Education Director Richard Skipper called the program a great opportunity for the seniors.

“We do have kids who will go to other (TCAT schools),” he said. “TCAT McMinnville is our business partner. They are the parents of our satellite campus that is coming to Coffee County.”

Skipper commended the seniors on getting a jumpstart on their careers.

“We have a bunch of kids who don’t know what they are going to do. We see it every year. Congratulations, on making the commitment.”

Michele Chamberlain, Dual Enrollment/Accreditation Coordinator, commended the students on their hard work.

“It is exciting to see that you want to make a commitment to TCAT McMinnville,” she said. “It will be well worth your commitment. The programs are amazing.”
