Memorial service to be held for Rangland family
RAGLAND, OTHOL
Othol “Big O” Raymond Ragland, of Manchester, TN, passed away March 3, 2024 in Austin, Texas. Mr. Ragland was born on Aug. 13, 1941 to Othol Raymond Ragland Sr. and Otie Kay Ragland. He attended Manchester Central High School where he met his late wife of 60 years, Ann Bryan Ragland. He graduated from Middle Tennessee State University with a degree in Industrial Arts and later received a Master’s degree from the University of Memphis. Mr. Ragland spent most of his life in Franklin, involved in carpentry, running a hardware store, designing and creating Christmas ornaments, and doing wood-working projects for friends, family, and the community. He enjoyed all kinds of carpentry, singing at his church, and spending time outdoors most notably on Tims Ford Lake, at his cabin in Roan Mountain, TN, or travelling in his motor home. In retirement, he enjoyed running Ragland Bottom Campground with his wife, Ann. “O” was known as hard-working, kind, and loved by all who knew him. He had a deep love for his country and Christ.
RAGLAND, ANN
Ann “Annie” Bryan Ragland, of Manchester, peacefully passed away surrounded by family at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 25, 2025 in Austin, Texas. Mrs. Ragland was born in Prairie Plains, TN, on May 24th, 1939 to Robert E. Bryan and Pearl Collins Bryan. She attended Manchester Central High School where she met her late husband of 60 years, Othol “O” Raymond Ragland Jr. She graduated from Tennessee Technical College with a degree in Home Economics and worked most of her adult life in Franklin. Mrs. Ragland enjoyed travelling in her motor home, reading, and in retirement with her husband, being a host at Ragland Bottom Campground. “Annie” was loved by everyone who knew her, she was a beloved friend, and a cherished mentor, confidant, and role-model for her children, and grandchildren. She was a devoted member of her church and a steadfast follower of Christ. They are survived by their two daughters, Rita Renee Wilson and Robie Makay Clark, Rita’s husband Lorne Wilson and three grandchildren, Mallory Makay Clark, Robert Othol Clark, and Grace Ann Wilson.
A joint memorial service for Mr. and Mrs. Ragland (Annie & O) will be held May 31, 2025 at 11 a.m. at Wesley Heights United Methodist Church, 2101 E Lincoln St, Tullahoma, TN 37388.
