Coffee leaps past Spring Hill, 7-0

The Red Raiders’ three-game losing skid came to an end on Wednesday night with a 7-0 district win over Spring Hill in Manchester.

Similar to their Tuesday night clash in Spring Hill, both teams began the game scoreless in the first two innings, but the Red Raiders got on the board in the third inning with Grayson Sadler scoring on a fielding error caused by Cole Pippenger line drive.

The next inning, Colter Neel added to the lead with a two-run drive to left field for his team-leading fourth home run of the season to make the score 3-0.

The Red Raiders completed four more trips to home plate over the next two innings and sealed a 7-0 shutout victory.

Starting pitcher Davis McKenzie controlled the mound through all seven innings and picked up his fifth win of the season after allowing only four hits and throwing 10 strikeouts.

With the win, the Red Raiders improved to 12-8 on the season and a 3-3 record in district play.
