Two Lady Raiders named to All-State Team

S

Coffee County’s Olivia Vinson and Channah Gannon were both named to the Tennessee Sports Writers Association Girl’s Class 4A All-State Basketball Team on Wednesday.

Both senior players have been an integral part of the Lady Raiders’ recent success, with the team going 67-5 combined over the last two seasons and reaching the 4A State Tournament in back-to-back years.

It is the second time that Olivia Vinson has received the honor, having also been named to last year’s 4A All-State squad.

Vinson played in all 35 games for the Lady Raiders last year, led the team in points for seven of those games, scored 20 or more points on seven occasions, averaged 13.9 points per game, and eclipsed the 1,500 career points mark. Vinson was also named to the 4A District 9 All-District and All-Tournament teams as well as the 4A Region 5 All-Region team.

Following in the footsteps of older sister Bella, who finished her CCCHS career with a record 2,113 career points and her No. 23 jersey retired, Olivia Vinson will play college basketball at the NCAA Division I level with the Lipscomb Lady Bisons.

Also representing Coffee County on the 4A All-State Team is Channah Gannon.

Gannon missed the first three games of the 2024-25 campaign due to an offseason injury, but still led the team in scoring on 17 occasions, scored 20 or more points 12 times, averaged 17.2 points per game and hit the 1,000 career points mark in the team’s 58-53 win over Bartlett on Jan. 4. Gannon’s season accolades include the 4A District 9 Regular Season MVP award, the 4A District 9 Tournament MVP and the 4A Region 5 MVP.

Channah Gannon will also be following a similar path to an older sibling by attending the University of Southern Indiana, where older sister Chloe is a current member of the Screaming Eagles women’s basketball team.
