Pedestrian struck and killed on I-24

A man was struck and killed by a pair of vehicles on Interstate 24 Thursday morning.
The fatally injured man was identified by the Tennessee Highway Patrol as Robert Moreau, 46, of Tennessee. Investigators did not reveal in their preliminary report why Moreau was walking around on the interstate on a morning that saw temperatures barely in the double digits along with snow showers.
The incident happened just after 6 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 20, on Interstate 24 in the westbound lanes near Exit 117 in Coffee County. Moreau was struck by a 2015 Hyundai Genesis driven by Jacob W. Meaker, 25, and 2005 GMC NK1 drive by James M. Ashley, 60.
Both drivers were not injured and no charges were filed in the case.
