Red Raiders sweep tri meet at LaVergne

The CCHS wrestling team picked up two dual wins on Monday night in a tri meet with LaVergne and Rockvale.
In their match with host LaVergne, the Red Raiders won 10 individual duals: Aiden Lindsay (132 pounds), Carlos Valle-Martinez (138 pounds), Emmanuel Rodriguez (157 pounds), Eli McLean (165 pounds), Zachary Warrick (175 pounds) and Zander Warrick (190 pounds) all won by a fall, Giddian Mascari (113 pounds) won in a 22-7 technical fall, Joel Cruz-Martinez (215 pounds) won in a 9-0 major decision, William Barlow (150 pounds) won by a forfeit and Tanner Vernon (285 pounds) won in a forfeit.
Cameron Kerr (120 pounds) and Landon Spence (126 pounds) both lost by a fall, both teams forfeited the 106-pound and 144-pound divisions and LaVergne was deducted one team point, resulting in a dominant 57-11 win for the Red Raiders.
Coffee County also wrestled against Rockvale with Lindsay, Valle-Martinez, Barlow, McLean and Cruz-Martinez winning their individual matches by a fall, Mascari winning in a 23-9 major decision, Rodriguez winning in a 12-1 major decision and Andrew Miller (175 pounds) winning in a 12-3 major decision.
Kerr, Spence, Vernon and Zander Warrick would lose by a fall, Coffee County would forfeit the 144-pound division and both teams would forfeit the 106-pound division, giving the Red Raiders a 42-30 dual win to complete the sweep.
On the girls side, Jasmine Norris (126 pounds) beat Kendall Grigsby of LaVergne and Naomi Crowell of Rockvale by a fall. Aime Miller (136 pounds) would lose her only match of the night by a fall to Adsila Holman of Rockvale.
For their next meet, the CCHS wrestling team is slated to travel to Tullahoma for a dual meet on Wednesday, Dec. 18 starting at 6 p.m.
