One person was injured and another cited after a pre-dawn crash of tractor trailers on Interstate 24 left the interstate closed for a period Tuesday morning.

According to the Tennessee Highway Patrol, the wreck happened around 3:22 a.m. Tuesday near the 117-mile marker on I-24 in Coffee County. Investigators say Jarrette Bloosomgame, 57, of Georgia was heading west on the interstate in his 2016 Freightliner tractor trailer when he failed to maintain his lane. His semi then struck another tractor trailer, a 2019 Kenworth driven by Eric Harvey, 34, of Georgia that was on the shoulder. The impact caused the Bloosomgame Freightliner to jackknife, blocking both lanes of travel. The crash left Deondre Cooksey, 30, of Georgia injured. Cooksey was a passenger in the Kenworth that was struck.

Bloosomgame was cited for failure to maintain his lane. The wreck left the interstate closed for several hours Tuesday morning for the cleanup and removal of the wrecked tractor trailers.
