Lady Raiders tame Tigers for 10th win

The CCHS Lady Raiders opened the DTC Christmas Classic in Gordonsville with a dominant 63-24 win over the Central Magnet Lady Tigers on Friday afternoon.
Last time out, the Lady Raiders picked up a hard-earned 55-41 victory on the road at Franklin County on Friday, Dec. 13 to improve to 9-0 on the season.
If the Lady Raiders wanted to improve to 10-0, they would have to beat the Central Magnet Lady Tigers, last year’s 3A District 8 Tournament runners up, in the first game of the DTC Classic.
The Lady Raiders dominated the game right from the opening tip, outscoring the Lady Tigers 24-9 in the first quarter and 14-5 in the second to build a 38-14 halftime lead, fueled by 15 first half points from Lipscomb signee Olivia Vinson.
Central Magnet would never seem to figure out the Lady Raider defense, as Coffee County held them to 10 second half points in what would turn out to be a 63-24 Lady Raider win.
Box Score: Coffee County Lady Raiders (63) Olivia Vinson 22, Jules Ferrell 14, Channah Gannon 12, Natalie Barnes 8, Jaydee Nogodula 5, Ella Arnold 2.
Central Magnet Lady Tigers (24) Madisen Stanley 14, Julia Stuible 6, Lia Reyes 4.
The 10-0 Lady Raiders will be back in Gordonsville on Saturday, Dec. 21 to take on the Clinton Lady Dragons at 1:30 p.m.
