On Monday night, the Coffee County Middle Red Raiders defeated the Warren County Pioneers 37-17 in the first round of the CTC Tournament at Tullahoma West Middle School.

After splitting their previous two regular season games against North Franklin and Stewarts Creek, the Red Raiders were looking to open the CTC Tournament with a first round victory.

The Red Raiders would go on a 6-0 run in the first 1:30 of game time, then outscore the Pioneers 7-5 the rest of the first quarter for a 13-5 lead. 

Coffee County continued to build their lead in the second quarter, outscoring Warren County 8-5 for a 21-10 halftime lead.

The Pioneers would fight back in the third quarter, outscoring the Red Raiders 7-3, but Coffee County still held a 24-17 lead heading into the fourth.

The Red Raiders would shut out Warren County in the final frame and win the game 37-17.

Both Coffee Middle basketball teams will be in action on Tuesday, Dec. 17 in the CTC Semifinals with the #1 Lady Raiders taking on the #5 North Gatorettes at East Tullahoma Middle School at 5 p.m. and the #2 Red Raiders facing the #6 North Gators at Tullahoma West Middle School at 6 p.m.
