Lady Raiders stay perfect, Raiders return to win column

On Tuesday night, CCHS basketball completed a sweep of Franklin County as the Lady Raiders won 53-42 in a close battle and the Red Raiders turned in a superb performance on defense with a 49-25 victory in Manchester.

After rattling off two wins in the Bearette Thanksgiving Classic this past Saturday, the Lady Raiders were looking to continue their perfect start to the season against the Rebelettes.
There was no shortage of offense in the first half, as the Lady Raiders outscored the Rebelettes 19-15 in the first quarter and 18-11 in the second for a halftime lead of 37-26.
Leading the way for the Lady Raiders in the first half was senior Olivia Vinson, who scored 14 points, including 10 in the first quarter.
The Rebelettes chipped away at the Coffee County lead in the third quarter, outscoring the Lady Raiders 13-9, but the Lady Raiders surrendered just three points from the Rebelettes in the fourth, allowing them to hold on for a 53-42 win.
With the win, the Lady Raiders improve their season record to 6-0.

CCHS Red Raiders
After some tough losses to Page and Grundy County, the Red Raiders were eyeing a return to the win column with a win over the Rebels.
Franklin County had the edge in the first quarter, outscoring Coffee County 9-6, but the Red Raiders sparked to life in the second quarter, shutting out the Rebels 18-0 for a halftime lead of 24-9.
The Red Raiders continued to defend their basket well in the second half, outscoring the Rebels 16-8 in the third quarter and 9-8 in the fourth to wrap up a 49-25 victory.
The Coffee County Red Raiders are now 2-3 on the season.
