CCMS picks up home sweep over East Tullahoma

The Lady Raiders improved to 10-0 with a 47-21 win over the Lady Panthers while the Red Raiders avenged their season-opening loss with a 47-19 win over the Panthers on Monday night.

The Lady Raiders turned in another dominant performance on defense, allowing just five first half points in route to a 47-21 victory over the Lady Panthers.

“Once again, our defense set the tone for the entire game,” Coach David Vinson said of the win. “On offense, we had a number of good looks that we couldn’t hit, but it was still a good conference win.”

The win moves the Lady Raiders to 10-0 with a 7-0 record in CTC play.

Meanwhile, the Red Raiders were looking to show how much they had improved since their season opener on Oct. 21, where they lost at East Tullahoma 44-37 in what has been their only loss of the season to this point.

The Panthers would have the edge at the start of their Monday night rematch, outscoring Coffee County 9-6 in the opening quarter, but the Red Raiders erupted in the second quarter, outscoring East 16-4 to take a 22-13 lead into the half.

The second half would be all Coffee County, as the Red Raiders outscored the Panthers 25-6 over the final two quarters to win the game, 47-19.

With their ninth straight victory, the Red Raiders improve to 9-1 on the season with a 6-1 record in conference play.

Coffee County Middle will be at home again on Thursday, Nov. 21 to take on Harris.
