The Millennium Repertory production of “Calendar Girls,” based on the hit 2003 movie, opens Friday, Sept. 13, at the Manchester Arts Center.

The comedy/drama centers on a Yorkshire women’s club that decides to go the unconventional route with this year’s fundraising calendar by bearing it all for the camera.

The laughs fly as Chris (Hope Petty) tries to convince Annie (Karen Wainright) and her mates to step out of their comfort zone. Also baring all for the camera are Shellene M. Kent as Cora, Viann Clements as Jessie, Katelyn Walker as Ruth, and Holly McLaren as Celia. But when the calendar goes viral, Chris and Annie’s friendship is put to the test.

Director Rachel Spangler’s cast also features Stuart McLaren, Susan Higdon, Becky Spangler, JD Dill, Bob Jarman, Doug Spangler, Haylee Eaton, and Kate Duke.

Millennium Repertory Company’s Calendar Girls runs Sept. 13 – 15 and 20 -22, Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 p.m. and Sundays at 2 p.m. The show deals with mature situations and is not recommended for pre-teens.

Tickets are $17 for adults, $15 for seniors and military, and $10 for students, and are available at millenniumrep.org or by calling 931.570.4489. The Arts Center is located just off Manchester’s historic square at 128 E. Main St.
