Coffee County Mayor Dennis Hunt announced Monday the hiring of Laura Vazquez for secretarial duties.

The hire coincides with Sept. 15, the first day of Hispanic Heritage Month.

 Hunt said Laura will greet visitors to the Mayor’s office and the Coffee County Administrative Plaza.

“Laura’s presence in the building has already proved beneficial as an interpreter for other departments at CCAP,” he said.

Vazquez was born in Chihuahua, Mexico. She moved to the U.S. in 1994. Laura has worked for the Coffee County Sheriff’s Department previously.
