FRANKLIN

Brenda Faye Holliday Franklin, age 77, departed this life on Saturday, Aug. 3, at Ascension St. Thomas River Park Hospital in McMinnville, following an extended illness.  Mrs. Franklin was born in Winchester, on Aug. 9, 1946, to the late Raymond Holliday and Edna Mae Conn Holliday, one of their 13 children.  Mrs. Holliday was employed as an inspector at the former Colonial Shirt Factory for several years.  Her favorite thing to do was babysitting her grandchildren and great-grandchildren that all called her “Nanner.”  She enjoyed working in her vegetable garden and her flowers.  She was a very good cook.  She will be greatly missed and remembered as a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings; Donald Holliday, Edith Partin, Rachel Holliday, Jerry Holliday, Randall Holliday, Herschel Holliday, Elizabeth Holliday, and Beverly Holliday. She is survived by her husband of 37 years, Marty “Pa” Franklin, Daughter, Beverly Hulsey, Son, Ricky Ladd, all of Manchester, Grandchildren; Ginger Hulsey Jacobs, of Manchester, A.J. Ladd and wife, Lindsey of Decherd, Tenn., Rikki Caldwell of Tullahoma, Tenn., sisters, Norma Sells and husband, Edwin, brothers; Ray Holliday and wife, Deb, and James Holliday a and wife, Deborah all of the Winchester Springs community, Jim Holliday and wife, Mary of Cowan, Tenn., great-grandchildren; Lia, Kylee and Kinslee Jacobs all of Manchester and Trey Caldwell. Services for Mrs. Franklin were conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 7, in the Chapel of Grant Funeral Services with Pastor, Mark Turner, officiating. Visitation with the family were held from noon Wednesday, until service time at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of Grant Funeral Services. Interment followed in the Rose Hill Memorial Gardens in Tullahoma.
