Phyllis Louise (Nugent) Myers, age 72, of Manchester passed this life Wednesday, Aug. 7, 2024.  She was born June 15, 1952, in Ypsilanti, Michigan to the late Herbert and Lillian (Smith) Nugent.  In addition to her parents, Phyllis is also preceded in death by her brothers, Donald, Ronald, and Paul Nugent.

Phyllis’ pride and joy was Choey, her toy poodle.  She was proud of her bachelor’s degree in theology and was working on her master’s degree.  It was her dream to work with a hospice as a chaplain.

Phyllis is survived by her daughter, Autumn Gunn (Jesse); daughter, Melody Myers; grandchildren, Lexi Gunn and Izzy Myers, J.D. Gunn, Evan Gunn; great-grandson, Clyde Gunn; and brother, Thomas Goad.

The family received friends from 4 – 8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 16 and from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 17 at Coffee County Funeral Chapel.  A funeral service was held at 1 p.m. in the chapel with Reverend Paul Gunn officiating.  Interment will follow at Old Grove Cemetery at Beechgrove Cumberland Presbyterian Church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the funeral home to help with funeral expenses.
