Red Raider golf places fourth in Golden Classic

On Wednesday, the Red Raider golf team placed fourth as a team in the Golden Classic at WillowBrook Golf Club.

Jack Stowe and Noah Costello from Coffee County each tied for third overall with Cookeville’s Poston Bost with a score of 73. Webb’s Phet Phothong placed first with a 65 and Cookeville’s Sean Montgomery placed second with a 71.

Levi Rossman scored an 81 and Jaxon Phillips turned in an 86 to give Coffee County a total score of 313, placing them fourth among the 16 teams competing in the tournament.

Webb placed first with a team score of 296 and Cookeville placed second and third with scores of 302 and 308.

In individual scoring for Coffee County, Carter Bell scored an 83, Landon Collins turned in a 93 and Lucas Turner managed a 108.

In the girls match, Coffee County placed fifth out of the eight teams as Leah Kate Sullivan scored a 97 and Karsyn Riddle carded a 129 for a team score of 226.

Cascade placed first overall with a score of 163 as Anna Clanton carded an individual-best score of 73. Eagleville placed second with a 164, as Alerra Strickland and Ann Marie Cliver each turned in an 82.

Coffee County Golf will be back in action at WillowBrook Golf Club on Monday, Aug. 26 when they play host to Marshall County.
