Show scheduled for Warren County Fair

Manchester singer/songwriter Macy Tabor is slated to open for multi-platinum-selling artist Sammy Kershaw in September at the Warren County Fair.

“I’ve opened earlier this year for Gene Watson,” Tabor said. “And I’ve opened for Lee Greenwood multiple times. I’ve done festivals with some big names, like the Lynchburg Festival. ”

Tabor said performances like this offer her the chance to perform more of her original songs in addition to the popular covers she plays nightly on Nashville’s Broadway honky-tonks.

“I love doing that stuff more than cover songs because it’s my artistry and who I am,” Tabor said. “Whenever I do things like this where it’s me as an artist, I try to prepare with my original songs. That requires a little more practice and time to prepare.”

Tabor’s latest single “Match Made in Hell,” a chart toping hit on the independent charts, is one of her favorites. The song, a personal journey about love and betrayal, was released in February and was ranked number one on the Country Independent Chart. It has been streamed over 100,000 times.

The single was nominated for a Josie Award for song of the year, with the winner to be announced in October.

“I’m trying to do more things like opening up for bigger artists and venturing out of Tennessee,” Tabor said. “As of now I still play five days a week on Broadway.”

Tabor will perform her first out of state gig at Dirty Boots Augusta, Georgia.

“At the honky-tonks it’s not very different from playing at something like the fair,” Tabor said. “When you get to the late night stuff on Broadway, it’s totally different from a county fair. You have people right up on the stage requesting songs – the whole environment is different.

In 2021, Tabor signed her first record deal with MC1 Nashville Sony Orchard. Her first single under the label was released in October 2021 titled “Tore Up, while her second song “Tryin To Be Me” went number one for two weeks in a row on the Chart Toppers We Do Hits Country Independent Charts.

Tabor is set to graduate Middle Tennessee State University with a music business degree. After college Tabor hopes to focus more on her music career.

Tabor is also scheduled to perform in Manchester at Old Timers Day in October.
