Body found at Normandy

Story update: The victim has been identified as Hunter Smithson, 28, of Manchester.   Coffee County Sheriff Department announced the name after press time on Monday.  

Coffee County Sheriff’s Department announced that a body of a white male was discovered at Normand Reservoir, Sunday, July 7. 

 According to a statement by CCSD Chief Deputy Frank Watkins, deputies were called to meet TWRA at the Fire Lake area of Normandy Lake at approximately 4 p.m. 

TWRA located the body of a white male floating in the water. Investigators were called to the scene and the investigation is ongoing. The identity of the individual is not being released pending notification of family.

Preliminary information indicates no foul play was involved. More information will be released as details become available.
