On Monday afternoon, Coffee County Central High School announced that Jerry Pruitt will be appointed as the new Red Raider Baseball Coach.
Pruitt had previously served as an assistant baseball coach at Coffee County Middle School for the last three years and comes to the high school ranks with an extensive knowledge of the sport.
“Coach Pruitt has a passion for coaching baseball and mentoring young men,” said CCCHS Athletic Director Brad Costello. “We are looking forward to him leading our high school program.”
Pruitt will replace previous head coach Kyle Douglas, who resigned from the position on June 18. Douglas had led the team to an overall record of 48-46-1 with District Championships in 2022 and 2023, and a fifth place regular season district finish in 2024.
Coach Pruitt will hold a meeting with parents and players at the CCCHS theater on Wednesday, July 10 at 5 p.m.
