Fellers signs with Bryan College

On Tuesday afternoon, CCCHS senior Bird Fellers signed his letter of intent to play college baseball with the Bryan College Lions.

“I had a few offers, but one of Bryan’s coaches got in touch with me pretty quickly and after I had a visit, I fell in love with the campus and the environment they have there,” said Fellers. “I’m looking forward to a new experience, facing new challenges and meeting new coaches and teammates.”

Fellers, who played at pitcher and center field in his senior year at Coffee County, says that he will continue to play both positions in his first year at college, but he could commit to one in the future based on the team’s needs.

“I’m going to start as a two-way player in the fall and see what happens. Depending on how that goes and whichever position works best will be where I continue on to help them out.”

Fellers is still undecided on a major, but is thinking about studying either psychology or sports management with a future career in coaching.

When asked about his favorite memory from playing high school baseball, Fellers replied, “Definitely the 2022 and 2023 District Championship seasons and being a part of those teams.”
