Lady Raiders blown out by Lady Falcons; suffer first district loss

On Sunday afternoon, the CCCHS Lady Raiders took their first loss in district play after a 15-1 blowout loss in Fayetteville.

The Lady Falcons would fly out to a big lead early, scoring six runs in the first inning, then scoring five runs over the next two innings to pile up an 11-0 advantage through three innings of play.

Coffee County would get on the scoreboard in the top of the fourth inning as a Savannah Cooper ground ball caused the Lincoln County defense to commit an error, allowing Cooper to advance to second base and Paisley Campbell to score what would be the only run of the game for the Lady Raiders.

Lincoln County would score four more times in the bottom of the fourth inning and go on to win the game, 15-1 in a mercy rule.

Paisley Campbell would register the only hit for Coffee County and Lily Norman would be credited with a rare loss in the circle, pitching all four innings, allowing 15 runs on 13 hits, striking out four batters and walking six on 121 pitches.

The Lady Raiders are now 14-9 on the season and will play host to Lincoln County for Senior Night on Monday, Apr. 22 at 6:30 pm.
