Red Raiders drop home contest to Coffman

On Tuesday, the Coffee Middle Red Raiders fell to the E.O. Coffman Panthers 4-1.

The Panthers would get on the board first with two runs in the top of the first inning, then the Red Raiders would answer in the bottom of the first as Jaxon Pruitt doubled on a line drive that sent Augie Lynch home for a score.

The game would go scoreless for the next three innings, then the Panthers doubled their total with two runs in the fifth inning and held on to win 4-1.

Jaxon Pruitt had one hit and one RBI and Ethan Arnold along with Landyn Stiefel would each have one hit for the Red Raiders.

Pruitt would also be credited with the loss on the mound, pitching 4.2 innings, allowing four runs on three hits, committing four errors, striking out four batters and walking another four on 85 pitches. Arnold would pitch 2.1 innings in relief, allowing just two hits and striking out three batters on 26 pitches.

The Red Raiders are now 6-8 on the season and will play on the road at Harris on Thursday, Apr. 18.
