Lady Raiders win at Lincoln County; get season sweep of Lady Falcons

On Tuesday, the CCMS Lady Raiders won on the road at Lincoln County, beating the Lady Falcons 8-1 for their ninth straight win.

Coffee County would build up a 3 -0 advantage through the first four innings of play, then the Lady Falcons would get on the board in the bottom of the fourth inning to make the score 3-1.

The score remained the same until the top of the seventh inning, where the Lady Raiders erupted for five runs, including a line drive triple by Genna Sadler that drove in two runs and a triple by Payton Thomas that allowed another two runs to score and Coffee County would go on to win the game 8-1.

Kenzie Shelton, Allie Raines and Briley Jernigan each had three hits and one RBI apiece, Genna Sadler had one hit and two RBIs, Briley Apicella and Payton Thomas each had one hit and one RBI and Paige Chilton had one hit for the Lady Raiders.

Apicella earned another win in the circle, pitching in all seven innings, allowing one run on four hits, striking out seven batters and walking one on 91 pitches.

The Lady Raiders are now 12-2 on the season, having won nine consecutive games.
