Rockets finish fifth in DRVC Tournament; three players named to All-Conference Team

Last Saturday, the season came to an end for the Westwood Rockets with a 15-7 loss to Forrest in the DRVC Tournament.
In their first game of the tournament on Thursday, Apr. 18, the Rockets played host to Cascade, but lost 12-7.
The Rockets would win their next game against Cannon County 13-11 on Friday, Apr. 19, setting up a Saturday showdown with Forrest.
Westwood would have a 7-4 lead late in the game, but Forrest erupted for 11 runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to win the game, 15-7.
Tucker Linzey would have two hits and two RBIs, Davion Dycus, Brock Christian and Hayes Shemwell each had one hit and one RBI and Trey Sullivan, Brady Christian and Jaythan Finchum each had one hit in the game for Westwood.
C.J. Chavis would get the start on the mound and pitch four innings, allowing four runs on three hits, striking out three batters and walking three on 77 pitches.
Jaythan Finchum would be credited with the loss on the mound after pitching 1.2 innings and Trey Sullivan would also make a late relief appearance.
The Rockets finished the season with a 10-9 record, placing fourth in the DRVC regular season standings and fifth in the tournament. It is also the fourth consecutive time that the Rockets finished with 10 or more wins in a season.
Davion Dycus, Mason Hastings and Tucker Linzey were all named to the DRVC All-Conference Team.
