Red Raiders falter in Fayetteville

On Tuesday, the CCCHS Red Raiders lost on the road at Lincoln County 12-5 as the Falcons picked up the season sweep of the Red Raiders.
The Falcons seemed to have control at the start, scoring four runs in the first inning, then adding on another in the second to lead 5-0 in the early going.
Coffee County would show some fight, scoring three runs in the third inning, then in the top of the fourth, Cole Pippenger hit a triple to center field that allowed Brendon Sheppard and Trevor Jesse to score and knot things up at 5-5.
However, from that point on it would be all Lincoln County, as the Falcons scored seven runs over the next three innings to win the game 12-5.
Cole Pippenger would have two hits and two RBIs, Colter Neel had two hits and one RBI, Blake Hillis one hit and one RBI, Trey Turner would have one RBI, Trevor Jesse had a pair of hits and Brendon Sheppard had one hit for the Red Raiders.
Bird Fellers would get the start on the mound for Coffee County, but was pulled after pitching one inning, allowing four runs on four hits, committing two errors and walking one batter on 22 pitches. Cole Pippenger would get credit for the loss after pitching 4.2 innings, allowing eight runs on six hits, committing four errors, striking out six batters and walking another six on 98 pitches. Davis McKenzie would also make a relief appearance for the Red Raiders in the late stages of the game.
The Red Raiders are now 10-13-1 on the season, and will look to end their six game slide when they play host to Moore County as part of the Crethan Hansert Classic on Thursday, Apr. 18 at 6:00 pm.
