Vinson named to TSWA 4A All-State Team

This past Thursday, Coffee County’s Olivia Vinson was named to the Tennessee Sports Writers Association All-State Team for Class 4A Girls Basketball.
Vinson, a junior at Central High School, was part of a historic 2023-24 season for the Lady Raiders in which the team won its seventh consecutive District Regular Season Title, fifth straight District Tournament Title, the first Region Title since the 1970’s and the first State Tournament appearance since 1993.
Apart from her accomplishments with the Lady Raiders as a team, Vinson also racked up several individual awards this past season, being named to the All-District Team, winning the 4A District 9 Regular Season MVP and being named to the 4A Region 5 All-Tournament Team.
Vinson averaged 13.5 points per game this past season and hit the 1,000th career point mark on Feb. 19 in the District 9 Championship Game against Lincoln County.
Vinson announced her verbal commitment to Lipscomb University back in October of 2023 and is expected to sign with the Bisons later this year.
Lincoln County’s Abby Bryan was the only other player from 4A District 9 named to the All-State Team and the other members of the team include Carrington Jones of Bartlett, Natalya Hodge of Bearden, Kimora Fields and Harmonie Ware of Bradley Central, Ella Ryan of Brentwood, Imari Berry of Clarksville, Lauren Hurst of Cleveland, Carlyn Burdette of Collierville, Kyleigh Bacon of Daniel Boone, Caroline Hill of Dobyns-Bennett, K.J. McNealy of Farragut, Torri James of Rossview and Cybil Penland of Sevier County.
