MESSICK
Mary Lee (Trail) Messick, age 89, passed this world on Feb. 3, 2024, at her home with her family with her. Mary Lee was born in Coffee County to the late Herman Brandon and Golden Pearl (Floyd) Trail. She was a factory worker with Batesville Casket Company and was a member of Living Springs Church. Mary Lee loved being outside working in her flowers, spending time with her family, loved to quilt and was an avid reader. In addition to her parents, Mary Lee is also preceded in death by her husband, Leon Messick; brothers, Russell, Hershel, Howard, Fred, Virgel, and Kenneth Trail; sisters, Edna Davis, Hazel Davis, Ruth Sain, and Alta Crosslin; daughter-in-law, Naomi Messick; son-in-law, Ezra Sissom; one grandson, Jonathan Messick; and one great granddaughter, Cherokee Sissom. She is survived by her sons, Melvin Messick of Morrison, and David Messick of Murfreesboro; daughter, Brenda Sissom of Manchester; brother-in-law, Jerry Messick; thirteen grandchildren, thirty-seven great grandchildren, nine great great grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews. The family received friends from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, Feb/ 6 and from 10a.m. until 12 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 7 at Coffee County Funeral Chapel. Funeral service was held at 12 p.m. in the chapel with Brother Greg Mitchell officiating. Interment will follow at Gnat Hill Cemetery. In Lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to be made in Mary Lee’s name to the Gnat Hill Cemetery.
