Coffee Sweeps Franklin County

On Thursday night, the Red Raiders beat Franklin County for a season sweep of the Rebels.
Heading into the matchup with Franklin County, the Red Raiders were looking for their third straight win after finishing fifth in the Don Webb Classic in Alabama during Christmas Break.
Franklin County had the edge at the beginning as the Rebels outscored the Red Raiders 12-11 in the first quarter.
However, the Red Raiders would get going in the second quarter to pull ahead, 24-19 at the half.
After the halftime break, Coffee would add on to their lead, outscoring the Rebels 13-12 in the third quarter with Cooper Reed scoring nine of Coffee’s 13 points and the Red Raiders would lead 37-31 heading into the fourth.
The scoring pace picked up in the fourth quarter as the Red Raiders outscored Franklin County 20-17 to take the win, 57-48.
Scoring for the Red Raiders were Cooper Reed with 24 points, Jackson Shemwell with 11 points, Cayden Trail with 10 points, Courtland Farrar with seven points, Jaiden Warren with three points and Brady Wright with two points.
The Red Raiders are back at .500 with a 9-9 record and they will begin district play when they return home on Tuesday, Jan. 9 to take on Shelbyville Central.
