Mrs. Joyce Suzanne Vaughn, “Suzie” as she was fondly known as by family and friends, was born on May 4, 1936, to the late Glenn Marvin and Marcella Oaks Moore, in Biggsville, Illinois. She was a 1954 graduate of Monmouth High School in IL and then she became a pharmacy technician for many years at the Community Memorial Hospital in Illinois. Suzie enjoyed watching soap operas, cooking, baking, planting flowers, and she was known for being very political, but her greatest love was spending time with family and friends. In addition to her parents, Suzie is preceded in death by her brothers, Jim Moore and Roger Moore and his wife, Cindy; sister-in-law, Becky Moore. She is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, James Vaughn; daughter, LaShae Flowers and her husband, Mike; grandchildren, Jordan Flowers and his wife, Lisa, and Kailee Flowers; sister, Glenda Ryner and her husband, Dick; brother, Chris Moore; several nieces, nephews, extended family members and a host of friends. As per Suzie’s request, cremation was chosen and there are no services scheduled at this time. A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date. Suzie passed away on Monday, Jan. 15, 2024, at The Waters of Winchester after an extended illness. Online condolences and memories can be shared at
