Lady Raiders beat Kingston, Red Raiders win over Prattville

On Thursday, the Lady Raiders advanced to the Championship Game of the Lenoir City Christmas Tournament with a win over Kingston, while the Red Raiders defeated the Prattville Lions for a spot in the Fifth Place Game of the Don Webb Classic.
After a comeback win on Wednesday, the Coffee County Lady Raiders were pitted against the Kingston Yellow Jackets in the semifinals of the Lenoir City Christmas Tournament.
It was a close game in the first quarter, as the Lady Raiders led 10-9, but Coffee opened the game up in the second as they led 33-18 at halftime.
The Lady Raiders didn’t let up in the second half, outscoring the Yellow Jackets 13-9 in the third to lead 46-27, before going on to win the game 61-38.
Scoring for the Lady Raiders were Olivia Vinson with 25 points, Jules Ferrell with 15 points, Natalie Barnes with 12 points, Jaydee Nogodula and Bella Vanzanbergen with three points each and Ava McIntosh, Lilly Matherne and Morgan Spears with two points each.
The Lady raiders are now 15-2 on the season and will play in the Lenoir City Christmas Tournament Championship Game tomorrow at 6:00 pm EST.
Meanwhile in Alabama, the Red Raiders were looking to get back in the win column after a three game skid as they played the Prattville Lions.
The Red Raiders quickly went in front, outscoring the Lions 13-8 in the first quarter before dominating in the second, outscoring Prattville 21-5 to lead at halftime, 34-13.
Momentum stayed in Coffee’s favor in the second half as the Red Raiders outscored the Lions 17-9 in the third to lead 51-22 heading into the fourth.
The Red Raiders went on to win, 59-33.
Scoring for the Red Raiders were Jayden Carter with 16 points, Cooper Reed with 14 Points, Brady Wright with eight points, Jackson Shemwell and Cayden Trail with six points each, Courtland Ferrar with four points, Lane Fann with three points and Camden Hunt with two points.
The Red Raiders are now 7-9 on the season and will play in the fifth place game of the Don Webb Classic tomorrow at 3:00 pm.
