Coffee Middle Wrestling places second in District

On Tuesday night, the Coffee Middle Wrestling Team won against Sewanee and Whitwell, but lost to Tullahoma to place second in the District Championship.

The Red Raiders would win in dominant fashion over St. Andrews Sewanee.

Jesse Lester and Landon Carson would both win their matches by a fall, Jayden Melton, Toccoa Gaines and Kameron Stafford would win their matches by a technical fall, Grayson Peacock would win by a decision and Tripp Trussler, Luke Warrick, Rylee Mcbroom, Alyssa Ash and Caden Harris would all win by a forfeit.

Andrew Boles would lose by a fall, and St. Andrews would pick up two wins by a forfeit, but the Red Raiders won 60-18.

Coffee would also win fairly easily over Whitwell.

Trussler, Melton, Warrick, Mcbroom and Peacock would all win by a fall, Carson would win by a decision and Stafford, Ash, Harris and Kaydan Morris would all win by forfeit.

Boles would lose by a decision, Gaines would lose by a fall and Whitwell would win one match by a forfeit, but Coffee would win, 57-21.

In their third match of the night, the Red Raiders were pitted against the host Tullahoma Wildcats.

Melton, Peacock, Stafford and Harris all won by a fall with Trussler and Warrick both winning by a decision.

However, Lester and Carson would lose by a decision, Boles, Gaines, Mcbroom and Ash would lose by a fall and Tullahoma would pick up three forfeit wins to win the match, 48-30.

The Coffee Middle Red Raiders finish in second place in the District.

Coffee was also slated to wrestle with Cascade, but were not able to.

The Middle School Red Raider Wrestling Team will be back in action on Thursday, Nov. 30 for Eighth Grade Night against Spring Hill.
